FUN. :-)

Taking up CMSC 2 course was a sort of mixed feelings for me. Yes, I can see its importance and benefits but honestly this subject is very time consuming especially for us nutrition students, I bet sir Mykmyk understands it. J
Though making html, css, and blogs required in our laboratory class makes me feel tiring, I still enjoy doing it. I learned different knowledge about computer techniques and principles that I thought I already know before. It really fascinated me learning these different topics. I eventually like this course because it helps me show my artistic and creative side particularly in making html and css. I love designing something and this course let me do it even in a small way. At first, I thought that this subject will make me more stressed out but it proves that I am wrong. I can say that my cmsc laboratory class was not as toxic as my other class. I feel relaxed ( in a way. J) maybe because sir myk is understanding and fun to be an instructor.
The only thing that makes me difficult to cope up is in our lecture class. Since it is a large class, it is very difficult to listen and focus in our lectures. Also, given that we are in the lecture hall wherein our room is air-conditioned and we are sitting at the back, we have the tendency to sleep and do anything not related in our subject. Having a large class is really not advisable especially to subjects that need proper attention. Even though the subject’s topics are interesting, it is very hard to focus because of the different distractions around the lecture hall.
Lastly, I would like to commend my instructor in my lab, Sir Mykmyk. I seldom have a favorite teacher in three years of my college life. I think, I only have two and one of them is sir Mykmyk. J  He is a very fun instructor. He makes our laboratory class exciting by making his discussions light. He also relates well with his students. Besides from being understanding, he tends to give advices which are helpful to us students. J
Thank you sir for making my CMSC 2 subject such as fun and exciting experience. J

2010 with a SMILE!:-)

2010 has been a good year just as the years that passed by. Each year has their own highlight that has given me excitement, sadness, happiness and various experiences that affects my life but still managed to make me a better person. I personally believe that one has fully endured his year when he has accepted the changes whether it is good, bad or even a combination of both.
What happened in my life this year has influenced my personality and the way that I live. It began when I was diagnosed with severe allergy last May 2010. This was manifested with rashes all around my body. My doctor said that my allergies have been triggered by something I don’t know. I was not even aware of that. When I was young I have only allergic rhinitis but not skin allergy. Neither I nor my parents expected this happening. I had gone various medications and examinations to know the cause of this allergy. These lasted for days, weeks and even up to months.  After elimination diet wherein certain suspect foods from the diet are eliminated and skin test has been completed, it was found out that many foods especially those which are my favorite are the main cause of my allergies.  Eggs, milk, chocolate, garlic, wheat, sea foods, potato, carrots, cucumber, some fruits such as pineapple, mango and apple are ONLY SOME of the cause. Pollens form the trees especially around UPLB also triggers my allergy that made it more difficult to manage. It was very pensive on my part but there’s nothing I can do. ;’-)
Yes, it is very ironic that I am taking up BS Nutrition and yet here I am dealing with this food allergy. But that’s life; no one has to be blamed. I had undergone Immunotherapy for the treatment. Two injections every week is done. At first, it really hurts but as time goes by it has become just like a normal thing. Until now I am having this medication since severe allergies like mine lasted for 2 years. Definitely it changes my habits, everyday routine and my living. Not only are the foods to be eaten affected but also the things that I have been doing before. My parents have become stricter in terms of the places I went to, places I eat at and even the people I am going with. Though this last holiday season we have no pastries, ice cream, chocolates and sweets in our Noche Buena and Media Noche my mom still manages to celebrate our Christmas very special giving me a promise that she will bought me ice cream, cakes and shakes by the time my allergies has been cured. ;-) And this is one of the happenings I am looking forward to! :-D
Changes may give disappointments and even heartaches but we shouldn’t let it ruin our life. Instead we must fight, be inspired and focus on the good things that surround us. Our family and friends are there to help us in making our toughest decision. When we have family and friends like this, we can forget everything else and say we are living a good and overpowering life. ;-))

THERE ARE NO REASONS TO REGRET IN 2010!:-D

HOLIDAY DECORS IN HOLIDAY SEASON

Christmas spirit is incomplete without the presence of family get together, the coming of cold weather and different themes of Christmas decorations. These decorations create warm and enthusiastic feeling in the environment. It gives a special greeting to people celebrating the season. Traditionally, it is done with Christmas lights all surrounding the house, fascinating Christmas trees with sparkling Christmas balls in different colors and even life size Santa Claus and Snow Man. These decorations stimulate Christmas spirit and give the holiday season a meaningful and expressive way of celebration.

During Christmas season, the University of the Philippines Los Banos is traditionally decorating the campus with Christmas ornaments and outdoor Christmas decorations. These include the gigantic Christmas tree with huge gifts wrapped with attractive ribbons all around the tree. The gleaming Christmas balls that have compatible colors enhance the beauty of the tree. Together with dashing Christmas lights, it lights up the warmth, love and feeling of happiness for all the people seeing it.  This year, colorful candy house are added to the captivating look of the decoration.

Another thing that catches up the attention of the people is the so called Belen. This has become my favorite of them all. Every year, it gives a different taste to everyone. This decoration is made up of wood carved into shape and has a true feature of a person. This life size Belen reminds us the beauty and the pureness of the holy family especially the light that Jesus cast upon us for our lives.

Last but not the least, the newest decoration that the university has made was the gigantic Santa Claus with his reindeers. This seems very attractive to kids since they are the ones who still believes and loves Santa. It is truly amazing and spectacular.  All of these decorating ideas give a touch of class to holiday season.
