WINDOWS VISTA vs. UBUNTU

Windows has been very familiar to a lot of people. Even its history and transformations have been known. It has been hailed by a lot of viewers, users and even analysts around the globe. On the other hand, Ubuntu has been around since 2004 and was based on a version of linux called Debian. many versions from the Linux has been made and each of this versions have been known by a lot of people.

Windows prove that nowadays people often used this due to easy access  having a thought that it is more popular than Ubuntu. Most computer users are using windows more than Ubuntu but that is not a big deal! Since both functions normally and have enough features and programs to choose from. Though some softwares are poor and costly in windows, it still have a lot of software to choose from unlike in ubuntu. Lots of free stuff are also available in windows. On the other hand, Ubuntu has a quick installations of softwares but only have limited ones.

As a whole it offers an excellent support especially from its hardware. Ubuntu's hardware is now getting better. For some who has a really low capacity hardware it is suggested to substitute Ubuntu to Xubuntu. But as others said, there is no guarantee. There are also some possibilities that it won't work.

In terms of speed and performance, both are excellent and none really have a great impact in its disadvantages. But base on the article I have read, ubuntu is getting slower. Linux has not been delivering any major performance enhancement for desktop users. But this thing does not easily affect other linux users. More and more computer users are switching to Ubuntu especially if they find it compatible with the computer or laptop that they are using.

Both are easy and quick to install. Windows has a high end installation process that won't trouble users. However, upgrading from Windows XP or Vista can take a very long time, depending on the speed of your system and the number of applications you have installed. The WUBI tool of Ubuntu has become more effective than windows. It enables users to install Ubuntu from inside Windows, which is quite efficient for the viewers. Moreover, when it comes to its media support, the two has an excellent support in media formats and more codecs can be added with ease.

Another key point in Ubuntu is that it gives a great deal of what you really need. One feature is that you can get firefox 3.5 for the web, instant messaging, photo editors and a lot more of downloading stuff. Conversely, windows remove some applications. Thus, more downloading processes are done.
